Budget Buys

Hello Hello!! Yes, I know it's been a while! its just that my a/c is broken it's been about 90 degrees outside which it means its about 150 degrees in my room and my computer room...luckily the a/c service repair man is on his way tomorrow!! Thank you God!!
On with it then...haha...so today I was bored and decided to go to the dollar store. I don't venture into one all that often, but whenever I do I'm always a happy camper. The goodies I found today were 7 books, a couple of polishes, and sum nail art polishes! yay!! 2 things I love in life.
The books I purchased may seem a bit juvenile, but hey they make me happy :)
1. Fringe Benefits (Valerie Frankel)
2. The Girls' Global Guide to Guys (Theresa Alan) this is the one I'm started
3. Aussie Rules (Jill Shalvis)
4. Girls Who Gossip (Theresa Alan)
5. The Romancipation of Maggie Hunter ( Jane Sigaloff)
6. Love, Meg ( C. Leigh Purtill)
7. One True Theory of Love ( Laura Fitzgerald)

Ramen Girl...well the cheater Ramen Girl

Maybe a month or so ago I went to an Asian restaurant for the sole purpose of getting some real ramen. I got my bowl of ramen and it definitely wasn't the packaged kind that I was used to which was a major plus , but it wasn't the ramen I thought it would be either. :/ so I went home a made up my own version! and it's pretty darn tasty so I thought I'd share it.
Ingredients
Ramen soup package
1 egg
soy & szechuan sauces
thai chili paste
veggies ( i like) broccoli, green pepper, zucchini, corn
lemon at the end to taste
Steps
1. Boil your 2 cups water
2. chop veggies
3. add veggies to water until cooked
4. add package of ramen cook until tender
5. add egg and stir rapidly
6. add soy, szechuan, chili paste
7. bowl and add lemon

Mama's Day

Ok ok it's been a while..I know this! ANd i'm also super duper late on this blog, but oh well. It has to do with mothers day. Yes, of course I have to have a mother obviously she birthed me, and took care of me and loved me unconditionally for 13 years. I will cherish those years forever plus a day. My mom was my world and i was hers. We were on our own so we had to be each others cheerleaders in life. My world came crashing down on me in Oct. 2000 when my mom passed away. She was diagnosed with leukemia in July of 2000 was in remission by August 2000 and passed away in Oct. WOW! is right. my mom was a fighter all the way till the end. My mom was in remission from the leukemia so her oncologist (cancer doc) let her come home for 2 weeks to get me ready to begin my 8th grade year, but when she went back to the hospital things made a drastic turn around and tore my life upside down. Her doc still wanted her to get the bone marrow transplant just to be on the safe side, so my mom went through with it. Thats where things went down hill my mom was feeling great in the beginning she was walking, talking, laughing just how she always had. Side note: she was the most happy optimistic person i knew thats probably why i'm like that and don't take life for granted. Back to the regular scheduled program :) she suddenly started not being able to walk or talk anymore bc she developed blood blisters and the docs ordered a biopsy and the results didn't arrive until 2 weeks after my mom sudden death..little had anyone known my mom had gotten a staph infection during the transplant. :( the infection started attacking her body systems until her heart just wouldn't beat anymore. it was oct 3rd 2000 and i will forever remember the day for the rest of my life. it was the worst day. i felt it in my body that something wasn't right, but i did my thing at school and went to the yearbook staff meeting took the pictures i needed to take, took the after school activity bus home then was sitting down watching ZOOM lol i loved that show! then I saw my aunt and uncle (moms sis n bro) pull into my drive way and at that moment i knew my life was forever changed. My best friend, my mom, my hero, had passed away. and i was left in the world alone. well not alone, but alone. I have 7 brothers and sisters (combined) and i still have my dad around, but i had never lived with or grew up with them. All i had ever known was my mom and besides the majority of them live in morocco i have 1 older brother and 1 younger sister who live here in chicago. so my aunt took me under her wing and we've lived together ever since. but yea mothers day is such a day for me bc i no longer have my mom. maybe one day when i have my own kids it will be a happy day again, but until then  it will be just another day.

Sorry for bringing you down with my blog, but it's my life it's 100% real. My life is good I have just about everything I could ever want. I'm just missing the reason why I was created :) but I know she loves me and is watching out for me and always will. I know she knows I love her too. And that's whats really important she will forever be with me in my heart and mind. :) I love you mom!!

flat curls..oh joy!

Old Navy Black tank top

Borrowed shirt from my aunt's closet, Forever 21 jeans, forever 21 beanie

Ok, here goes naturally I have flat straight hair which I usually don't mind, but everyone once in a while i love to switch it up a bit! today being one of those days, but sadly i DO NOT know how to use a curling iron after watching hours of Youtube how to's. i wish i knew was wrong with me. well i attempted to curl my own hair this afternoon and instead of looking like long luxurious curls i ended up with a messy looking fro, how you wonder?!? well i was a hair model at the hair a few months ago and the stylist chopped my hair to hell to give me layers to add volume, did i get more volume? not so much. but none the less i still love my hair. i'm 24 and had to have my aunt curl my hair...i have no shame in my game! haha..well my hair is still flat, but at least it has a bit of a curl compared to usual. ohh yea and if your wondering why in the heck i have a head in the background it's because i DID attend beauty school, but for aesthetics NOT cosmetology and that head was used to practice the technique of a european facial.
The fluffy hair pix are my today hair..the teddy bear one is my everyday flat straight hair

Nails galore & Lush

So a few weeks ago I stumbled upon this gem of a store Hong Kong Beauty Supply! I love nail polish, nail art, nail gems, heck I love anything to do with nails. I change mine just about every other day. Well onto the store they sell everything to do with nails in professional sizes & SUPER CHEAP!! Just the way I like it :) I've made two trips there so far, I may make more. I've spent $50 bucks there so far. They sell Essie, OPI, Seche Vite, ORly, China Glaze and a bunch of brands. They also have nail tips with prints and different colors. Then have some Ardell lashes and a bunch of other random stuff.
LUSH!!
I seriously love this store. I've stopped in numerous times, but the other day I definitely over did it. I spent the most I've ever spent..eeekkk, but it's worth it!! What I bought:
Bon Bon Lip Scrub
None of your beeswax lip balm
Buffy
Aqua Mirablis
Mini Ultrabalm--their version of vaseline
Emotibombs in Up you gets
3 solid soaps: peppermint, ultimate shine, and squeaky green
and last, but certainly not least my forever favorite BIG shampoo

Next time around I want to try:
Ocean Salt
Dark Angels
Glitter Bar

On a side note, if you're into Bath Bombs which I'm not I highly recommend putting it into an OLD stocking or trouser sock THEN tossing it into the tub. Less mess that way ;)
