DIY tinted moisturizer

What you will need:

a moisturizer..one with spf would be ideal
a foundation ( i used a mineral one, but you could use liquid)
a jar

Steps:

put some moisturizer into the jar
take some foundation and put in the jar
then mix together
there you have your very own tinted moisturizer!!

Jars to good use

So a while ago I placed an ELF order (i posted pix) and in that order I recieved a few broken lippies. I was sad at the time because I didn't have any little jars to put them in, but luckily at the dolla dolla bills store i found some! yay to finding goodies!!

All i did was remove the broken half from the lipstick tube and drop into a jar, then I scrapped out the remaining lipstick with the end of a make-up brush and scraped it along the endges of the jar so as not to waste any.  Then i tore the sticker with the name off the bottom so i could tape it to the top of the jar so i would know which color i was using.

Another thing i plan on doing is taking a little bit of my cetaphil moisturizer and some mineral makeup and mixing into a jar to make my own tinted moisturizer :)

Nail of the day

Who doesn't LOVE sparkles and leopard print? Well I certainly do so today i figured why not combine the two..this is what i came up with...

What I used:

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in #460 thinking of blue as the main base
Then I took some blue glitter that I got in a set at Hong Kong Fashion in Chicago and sprinkled it on top of the wet blue color
Then on my ring finger of both hands I used this leopard print sally hansen effects polish strips...i couldn't get it to work well that is why the tips are chipped, for some reason the tips wouldn't stay attached to my nails...oh well for my first time i was happy
Lastly, I applied Orly's Won't Chip protective polymer top coat to seal in the glitter and make the leopard print shine since it had a matte finish

Review of the Lassy Legs hair remover

I had seen commercials for it on late night infomercials, but never paid much attention. Then when I was at the dollar store the other day as soon as i walked in i saw it on a stand and thought what the hey! I'll give it a shot. I used it last night and I wasn't really a fan. On first touch it felt like sand paper!! UGHHH i hate nail files/sand paper it's like nails on a chalkboard to me. I gave it a shot anyways. It took 1 sand paper pad/leg. And it left a chalky residue on my legs. I honestly don't think i'd recommend it. It might be good in a pinch, but i wouldn't pick it up again.

Tomato Salad

So lately I have been hooked on Pinterest.com. If you haven't heard of it hurry and check it out! It's an awesome site. They have DIY projects, crafts, recipes, you name it they've got it! Well I've been checking out the recipes. I found one for heirloom tomato salad, but I'm not gonna lie I have no idea what an heirloom tomato is...so i improvised and used whatever tomato we have growing our backyard. It's extremely simple, yet tasty.

Ingredients
Tomatoes
Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Basil (fresh)
Freshly ground Salt & Pepper

Directions
Slice the tomatoes.
Drizzle with the olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper & basil
Enjoy!

That's what mine looked like, but I forget the basil because we didn't have any fresh :/ it was tasty, but probably would have been better with the basil.

Thrifty buys

Here's a few items I purchased over the weekend.

Payless: Yellow wedges by zoe&zac purchased for $14
Goodwill: I purchased an adorable plaid (OMG my mind literally just went blank so i'll just post a picture) purchased for $3.99

Dollar Tree: I bought wooden shelves, but I'll be painting them and using them for ring storage, an eyelash curler because oddly enough I don't own one, safety pins (you can never have enough, because when you need there is never one to be found), a mini nail shaper, a lassy legs hair removal thing, a small travel size spray bottle (going to be used for alcohol to clean my brushes in a pinch), and a punch of tiny jars ( for broken lippies, smashed eye shadows, creating lip shades, or whatever my heart desires), and a wall saying sticker

To end the post here is a picture of my adorable baby

Oh my! 103 stories high!

The day after the Cubs game Tom, Charles, and myself headed back to the city to check out the Skydeck at the Willis tower (which was the Sears tower, and i still call it that). I was the # 2, 470,684 person to visit the skydeck! Crazy, huh? The photos are from all sides North, South, East, & West. The West side pictures are the ones that are from a 4 foot ledge made of all glass that are extend from the side of the building. It was just recently added maybe a year or two ago because my first time there in like 2005 the ledge wasn't there. I was very lucky to have been there on a clear day so I could see for many miles! On nice days you can see up to 50 miles & 4 states! They are Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, & the most obvious one...Illinois!

My feet you can see the ground beneath!

LOL this is probably my fave
I was trying to get a picture of both of us, but since I'm short I kept cutting Toms head off
